According to Labour Party (LP) chieftain Wale Okunniyi, Peter Obi has a good chance of defeating Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2023 presidential election.
According to reports, Okunniyi claimed that his candidate would have won the election at 12:00 PM, which is before the regular election closing time, when he appeared live today on Channels Television’s election program titled “The 2023 Verdict.”
The politician expressed confidence that the former governor of Anambra State would win the election on Saturday due to the organic membership and support base of the Labour Party.
“My optimism tells me that [Peter Obi will win] straight by the first ballot,” said Okunniyi. My analyses confirm my optimism and the degree of effort that some of us have expended. By noon, it will be obvious that we have won, and we will be shocked.
He made sure to emphasize during the interview, “I am telling you what I have analyzed.
According to what is known, Okunniyi is the Obi-Datti Presidential Campaign Council’s head of grassroots mobilization (PCC).
“It may not be official, but you will know now when there is a trend,” Okunniyi continued in his defense.
“By 2:30 pm when voting ends, it is to collate. If you are in a polling unit, for instance, and you see the trend, and you have canvassers, information would have gotten to you.”
Okunniyi maintained that with the enthusiasm shown so far by Nigerians, voting should end early Saturday.
“In my polling unit, what has happened so far is that in three hours, it is clear [the winner is known], and the INEC officials would just be playing,” he continued.

Chijioke Edeoga, the Labour Party’s candidate for governor, confirmed the incident to Punch and claimed that the gunmen shot him and five other people inside his car before setting the car on fire.
In addition, Edeoga claimed that assassination attempts against members of their party are being made by their rivals in advance of the general elections in 2023.
He pointed out that the Labour Party’s presence in the state has caused the political parties to feel threatened.
The opposition parties are afraid they might lose the election on Saturday, claims Edeoga.
“It is true that our senatorial candidate for Saturday’s election in the Enugu East senatorial district has been killed,” he said. He and the other five were shot by the gunmen, who also set them on fire.
Political parties that felt threatened by the rise of the Labour Party in the state and are concerned they may lose Saturday’s election are aiming assassinations at members of our party.
