Officers of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission are unable to enter their office in Ikoyi, Lagos, as a result of Department of State Security agents storming the location.

The DSS and the EFCC have been at odds over who owns the building, according to reliable sources in both organisations.

A trustworthy source confirmed the development to our correspondent over the phone after our correspondent learned that DSS agents stormed the office on Tuesday around 7:00 am and refused to leave despite talks between agents from both agencies.

The DSS and the EFCC have been in a constant dispute over ownership of the office because it was previously occupied by them before the EFCC took over, according to an EFCC official who spoke to our correspondent under the condition of anonymity.

“But it’s been an administrative issue, and the case is not currently pending in court or causing any commotion. However, given that a new government has only recently taken office, we are baffled as to why they must block our office and deny our officials access.

According to a DSS source, “The office used to be ours, and we have been fighting over it for years now, and the EFCC knows,”

While this was happening, neither the EFCC’s Wilson Uwujare nor the DSS’s Dr. Peter Afunaya responded to our correspondent’s questions about the development.
