On Monday, seventeen passengers narrowly avoided death when the ferry carrying them from Ikorodu in Lagos State to Ebute Ero capsized.
This was stated in a statement made in Lagos by the general manager of the Lagos State Waterways Authority (LASWA), Mr. Oluwadamilola Emmanuel.
First responders, including LASWA officers, according to Emmanuel, saved them.
The incident, according to the general manager, happened around 7 a.m.

He claimed that a commercial passenger ferry by the name of Fazma Logistics was involved in the incident, which happened near the Third Mainland Bridge and the Bariga ferry terminal.
According to him, the boat was recovered right away while the boat captain was being questioned and the investigation was still ongoing.
