On Saturday, while voters were discharging their civic duties in Batsari Local Government Area of Katsina State, some attackers believed to be bandits reportedly stormed a polling location along the General Hospital road.
When the group attempted to sabotage the governorship and state house of assembly elections today, March 18, 2023, they were stopped by a team of security personnel.

One of the bandits was lynched and set on fire by a mob, according to a resident who shared details of the incident with Channels TV.
However, it was unclear what happened to the second criminal who was allegedly cornered by security personnel as the other was lynched. According to reports, they were two who were apprehended by the mob as they entered the polling place.
It was understood, however, that the state police command had not yet made an official statement regarding the incident.
