The brilliant educator behind Nigeria’s victorious performance at the 2025 TeenEagle Global Championship in London has been revealed on friday to be Mallam Adamu A. Mukhtar, Head of English Department at Nigerian Turkish International College (NTIC), Yobe State.

Mallam Adamu mentored the now celebrated Nafisa Abdullahi and Rukayya Muhammad Fema, who emerged as global champions in English Language Skills and Debate, stunning an international audience and bringing glory to Nigeria.

His own journey is no less inspiring. A former beneficiary of a Yobe State Government scholarship, Mallam Adamu has gone from being a supported student to becoming a world-class mentor ; a living testament to the power of sustained investment in education.

Now, calls are growing louder for this quiet achiever to be nationally recognized. Education stakeholders are applauding his commitment, consistency, and his pivotal role in nurturing talent that shines on the global stage.

“This kind of excellence must not go unnoticed,” said a school administrator. “Mallam Adamu represents what’s possible when teachers are empowered, appreciated, and allowed to thrive.”

As the nation celebrates the victory of its young stars, attention is rightly shifting to the teacher who made it possible — a hero in the classroom whose impact echoes far beyond it.
