The President’s wife, Mrs. Aisha Buhari, referred to Senator Bola Tinubu’s victory in the recently concluded presidential election as God’s will on Thursday.
Aisha expressed her confidence that Tinubu won’t betray the faith that Nigerians placed in him.
The First Lady spoke when she welcomed Sen. Oluremi Tinubu, the wife of the incoming president, and Hajiya Nana Shettima, the incoming vice president, on a thank-you visit to the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

Regardless of our varied interests and viewpoints, Aisha argued that we should all acknowledge that it was Almighty God’s will because we could not have succeeded without his grace.
“All Nigerians can celebrate this victory. I have confidence that the incoming president of Nigeria won’t betray the confidence and trust that Nigerians placed in him. Now is the right time to move on and concentrate on the way to a “renewed hope” for Nigerian women and youth.
Therefore, my sister, we rely on your knowledge of and enthusiasm for advancing the causes of women, youth, and girl child education.
I pray that May 29 will be marked by happiness and continued success for you in your role as first lady, she continued.
Wednesday morning saw the declaration of Tinubu as the winner of the presidential election held on February 25.

He defeated Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party, Peter Obi of the Labour Party, and Rabiu Kwankwaso of the New Nigerian Peoples Party, who represented the main opposition parties.
The former governor of Lagos State received his Certificate of Return on Wednesday in Abuja.
