Amaechi accuses Wike of spending N50m on alcohol every week

Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, the governor of Rivers State, has referred to Nyesom Wike as a drunk who spends N50 million on alcohol every week and should not be given a third term through his stooge.

Amaechi made this statement on Tuesday during his campaign for Tonye Cole in the Ogba-Egbema-Ndoni Local Government Area. While there, he met with the Eze Chukwumela Nnam Obi II, the Oba of Ogba land, and visited the residents of Omoku, Ndoni, Egbema, and Obrikom, where he also met with Eze Osoh, the Usomini of Obrikom.

Amaechi complained that Wike was underpaying the people of Rivers and wasting public money because the amount of money he spends on alcohol in two weeks is almost equal to what he (Amaechi) spent to construct one primary school when he was governor.
He claimed: “The person Wike purchases alcohol from said Wike spends 50 million naira on alcohol every week. Wike has drank one primary school in the past two weeks, according to the 112 million naira cost of the primary schools we built. Alcohol is the one speaking when Wike does. And he acts so brazenly about it. Wike announced live on television that he was beginning his day with a very expensive 40-year-old whiskey.

“We are requesting INEC’s impartiality. Wike and his administration have been despised by the people. People jumped on top of me and shouted in every street I went through. They recalled that while I did not dance, I did build five flyovers. 400 new doctors were hired, 600 were given cars, and all of the health facilities received ambulances. In order to find out what was going on, we visited primary schools. When we found that there were no teachers, we hired 13,200 new ones. Every school had a contractor to keep it up to date by the time I resigned as governor. What happened to the schools that he (Wike) constructed? said Amaechi.
Amaechi explained to the locals during separate visits why Tonye Cole is the best candidate for governor and should be chosen as the state’s next leader.

“Compare Tonye and the other man, and then contrast our government with Wike’s. Did Wike work with schools or electricity? We took care of your health. Why won’t you invest in Tonye Cole when you see that he is a businessman who has transitioned into politics. Come out and vote; this is your chance. Things will change if we succeed. The free education will be reinstated, he promised.

In a previous visit, Amaechi went to Iloabuchi in Port Harcourt, where the local business community promised him that they would support Tonye Cole and the APC, saying, “We know you, you are tested okay. Tonye Cole, who you are bringing, won’t let us down, we’re confident in that.
