Nuhu Clark, the elected representative for the Chibok constituency in the Borno State House of Assembly, is dead.
It was reported that the Borno politician passed away while receiving medical treatment for an undisclosed illness in India.
The news was confirmed by the Borno State Commissioner for Home Affairs, Information, and Culture, Babakura Abbajatau, on Wednesday in Maiduguri. He confirmed that the state government plans to issue an official statement after consulting with the Clark family.

Deputy Governor Umar Kadafur also expressed his condolences, describing Clark’s death as a huge loss to his family, the people of Southern Borno, and the state as a whole. Kadafur went on to say that Clark’s contributions to the growth and development of the state were invaluable and that his passing was a significant loss to the All Progressives Congress (APC) family.
Before running for the Assembly elections, Clark served as the Commissioner for Poverty Alleviation. He resigned from this position on April 25, 2022, to compete in the Chibok State Constituency election under the APC.
