In Rivers State, South-South Nigeria, an explosion from a crude oil tapping point has killed numerous people, including women.
In the early hours of Friday, the incident took place in the community of Rumuekpe in the state’s Emohua Local Government Area.
Grace Iringe-Koko, the state’s police spokesperson, confirmed the incident.

Mrs. Iringe-Koko withheld information about the incident’s origin and the number of victims. She promised a statement on the incident from the police in the near future.
