Chioma Akpotha, Kate Henshaw, Waje ‘attacked’ at Lagos polling units

At their various polling places in Eti-Osa LGA, Lagos, Chioma Akpotha, Kate Henshaw, and Waje are allegedly the targets of verbal and physical assaults.

The celebrities took to their various social media platforms a few hours into the start of the governorship and state house of assembly elections on Saturday to describe their unpleasant experiences at their polling places.

Akpotha claimed in an Instagram post that soon after receiving her accreditation, she pulled out her phone to give her followers updates on what was happening at her units.

The actress claimed that as soon as she pulled out the phone, some unidentified individuals attacked her with knives and bottles.

Apotha added that she was attempting to flee the scene when her car was also destroyed while she was filming from a moving Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV).

“Today is the worst day ever. I was here to vote,” she declared.

“I wasn’t even able to use my phone to take a recording or to announce that I was at my polling place. These guys came over and started attacking me with knives, bottles, and everything as soon as I pulled out my phone.

“They destroyed my side mirror, so I had to leave. I have no idea how much damage the car sustained, but I had to flee for my life because they were brandishing knives and threatening to stab me. Thank God I brought some helpers with me.
