Delta Teachers Fight: School Managers Should Prioritize Teachers Training – ‘HEI’.
TEC News!
The Lead Director of Human Enhancement Institute and Consults, HEI Nigeria, Da-Silva Johnson has advised School Owners and Managers in the country to prioritize the training of their Teachers and Staff to ensure professionalism , ethics and Character.
Da-Silva who is also a Private School Proprietor and consultants with several awards in several feilds said this in reaction to the news about the viral video of two male teachers caught on camera engaging in physical fight in a school in Delta State on Wednesday.
Da-Silva said that it is a shameful act he even described a criminal act in nature since it can affect learners adversely. He said:
“HEI Nigeria believes that even though the constitution did not tag two fighting as a criminal act such as Robbery, kidnaping or killing, for a school system where learners can be modeled into greater status in the future, one of the highest act we believe is criminal in nature that can be committed in the school environment or even outside as teachers is physical combat and the act can affect the school status and their wards. Hence , teachers and staff training must be prioritized”.
The Lead Director and Consultant said that some School Owners and Managers are actually trying in the training of their Teachers but while encouraging them not to stop the effort for any reason, he advised those giving excuses to consider Teachers and Staff Training.

“In my years of service as a Consultant to Private Schools across the country, many of the school owners do not know the importance of teachers training while those that have engaged thier staff in training a few times now shy away from it for couple of reason which the paramount among the reasons include that teachers are not stable in schools and most times those ones that are trained leaves almost immediately after they are trained which is actually a discouraging act.
However, I do advise them to continue. “You see, as you invest in staff training, the few weeks, months or terms they work with you, they maintain standard and professionalism that can improve the image of your school. Also, there would be teachers already trained by other schools that can also come and apply in your school. If you stop teachers training because they likely would leave, the disadvantages of not training the teachers are far higher and destructive than when you insist on consistent training” Da-Silva said to TEC News correspondent on Thursday.
He also added that where teachers are leaving either trained or not, the Proprietor also need training.
“This is why ‘HEI Nigeria’ always prefer holistic staff training such as training not just the Teachers on professionalism but also on attitude in workplace and we also do engage school management staff and even school owners on professionalism , Ethics and Attitude as well which would to a large extend ensure Teachers and Staff Retainership”. Da-Silva added.
Base on findings and reports, many teachers are engaged in wrong behavior in our schools with some leading to the shut down of their schools and even worse.
