A leader of the Labour Party in Ebonyi, Chief Henry Ude (AjimBest), has switched allegiance to the Peoples Democratic Party, or PDP.
This was stated in a statement released on Wednesday in Abakaliki and signed by Chief Abia Onyike, the PDP Governorship Campaign Council’s Director of Media and Publicity.
When he spoke with journalists in Abakaliki, Ude, one of the founding fathers of Ebonyi and a pillar of the LP in the state’s Okposi, Ohaozara Local Government Area, confirmed the development.
He claimed that he made the decision to rejoin his former party in order to aid in the fight to rescue the state from its political mire.

Ude, a founding member of the PDP, gained notoriety for being the sole sponsor of media advertisements during the early 1990s struggle for the establishment of Ebonyi by the late Gen. Sani Abacha, the military Head of State.
He claimed to be convinced that the PDP could give the residents of the state their freedom, security, and peace back.
I’ve joined the PDP to stand with the rest of our patriotic forces, who also long for liberty and progress and the freedom to move about, associate, and advance.
In order to seize control from the APC-led government in the state, he urged the populace to join the new political liberation movement being led by Dr. Ifeanyi Chukwuma Odii, the state PDP governorship candidate.
“I’m reassuring the people of Ebonyi that the PDP can recover its stolen mandate and reposition the state through good governance to serve the needs and interests of the majority.

The key to life is to “have no fear” because if you keep running while being pushed, you’ll never stop. Ebonyi will once more be free thanks to the assistance of Almighty God, he declared.
