There have been comments by Nigerians that the new governor of Ondo State is likely the number one citizen of the state today with a reason that is connected to the names given to him by his parent.
The name he bears, Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa are all loaded with deep meaning that suggest fortune, goodness, favour that has been allegedly paving way for him into headship and leadership.
His name, Lucky is already an English word that means favour, fortune and fortunate. Another name, Orimisan is a yoruba name that literally means ‘my head is good’ and Aiyedatiwa means ‘the world is now ours ” or ‘we are now in charge” according to the interpretations made by Nigerians that understands yoruba language.
Nigerians especially the yoruba speaking few and some residents of south west Nigeria feels the governors name has been attracting good fortune over the years considering his life achievements.
Abimbola as he simply identified himself, a yoruba man though living in the northern part of Nigeria said the governor was perhaps deliberately given those names as a means of creating good luck for him in his endeavors in life.
