Police team ran over handcuffed man with bus

A team of policemen in ekpoma, Edo State, Nigeria on Thursday 29th June, 2023 ran over an handcuffed man with their bus.
The Acting Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Olukayode Adeolu Egbetokun has condemned the disturbing incident where the helpless man was made to go through such ordeal and has ordered that the policemen involved in the act report to the Police headquarters in Abuja on Monday 3rd June, 2023 for further actions.
The Newly installed Acting Inspector General of Police has said the members of the public should remain calmed especially the people of Ekpoma as his leadership shall not tolerate such an act of unprofessionalism and illegality.
A statement on Friday by the Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi reads: “Members of the public, particularly the people of Ekpoma, are implored to remain calm as the present leadership of the NPF will not condone such an act of unprofessionalism and illegality.”
The erring policemen have been on detention in Ekpoma since the incident and expected to report to Abuja on Monday.
