A post is presently in circulation on social media lamenting the recent move by the federal government on the proposed N8,000 to be given to 120million Nigerians as palliative to cushion the effects of fuel subsidy removal in Nigeria.
The said N8,000 is to be gotten from the 500bn borrowed from the world bank and it is to be ensured it gets into the right hands as said by the President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The writer of the post seen on a whatapps platform by TEC News Social Gist Correspondent is yet to be identified but the author suggests that the 500bn to be disbursed to Nigerians which would mean scratching the surface of the problem can buy 8,000 numbers of 60 seater executive buses that can ease the transportation challenge facing Nigerians at the moment.
He further added that if the buses could be purchased and distributed, each state, including the federal Capital Territory would get 216 buses which can help transport Nigerians for the next ten years free of serious mechanical problem, and which would have been better than wasting money.
He also said, purchasing the buses would not only aliviate the suffering of Nigerians due to high cost of transportation but would also create jobs for Nigerians.
“Instead of giving 8k to 12m poor families, why not distribute these buses across the country to ease the cost of transportation?
You would also be creating jobs in the process.
And each state and FCT will get 216 buses which will drastically reduce transport fares and used for 10yrs without giving issues as regards repairs”.

He further advised that government should avoid throwing money around recklessly if financially bankrupt as claimed.
