Take Your Job Seriously, No Excuses. Bishop tells Benue Governor.

The Presiding Bishop of Old Catholic Apostolic Church, OCAC, in the Province of Nigeria, Bishop Raphael Fagbohun Oluwaseun has charged the Executive Governor of Benue State, Revd Hyacinth Alia Iormem to man up enough without excuses and discharge his duties.
This he said during a chat with TEC News correspondent in an Ordination service held by the Church where 2 Bishops were ordained at Ihugh, Vandeikya Local Government Area, Benue State on Thursday 29th May, 2025.
The presiding Bishop , Most Revd Raphael Fagbohun who came all the way from Abuja, the headquarters of the church in Nigeria lamented the situation of the country where the infrastructure architectures are in zero level and both roads and security have become nightmare as it took him and his team two days to travel from Ekiti State to Benue State due to Bad road and insecurity.
“Imagine the state of our dear nation. It took us two good days to be here due to insecurity and bad roads. We could hardly cross Otukpo to this part of same Benue State. It is not good at all”. Bishop Raphael said.
On the state of insecurity of the state, the bishop said the Governor has to be serious with his job as he has no excuse.
“The Governor has no excuse and has no reason waiting for anyone. He is the Executive Governor and the Chief Security Officer of his state. He has to take his job seriously and discharge his duties. Security must not be compromised”. Bishop Raphael added.
To the newly consecrated Bishops, Most Revd Raphael charged them on the need to do more and discharge the office of Bishop. They have to ensure that more is done for the Lord and the Church.
“The new Bishops have just been added to the Council of Bishops and now, they have no excuse. They have to work for more growth and expansions. I don’t need to come all the way from Abuja or anywhere I might not need to come and carry out certain duties here or their respective locations. They can do it now and no excuse “, Most Revd Raphael said to TEC News correspondent.
The Old Catholic Apostolic Church, OCAC, Ihugh , Vandeikya Local Government Area of Benue State site where the ordination and consecration of the two Bishops, Levi Terkula Tyo-Abuul who shall henceforth preside over Ihugh Vicariate and Bishop John Oamen Akhigbe who shall preside over southern Vicariate took place is pined down as a cathedral. TEC News gathered that it took just about two months to complete the structure.
The Provincial Bishop , OCAC Province of Nigeria, Rt. Revd Peter Ulofu described the Ordination service as a huge success and a new beginning for the church.
Bishop Peter also lauds the church community and appreciated the system of OCAC as a church that is structured to ensure that members live the fullness of life and make heaven.
“We have a church that allows marriage of the priest who wants to marry and have kids. The church of old was like that considering Apostle Peter and Paul in the Bible”. Said Bishop Peter.
Bishop Levi Terkula Tyo-Abuul told TEC News correspondent during a chat on how the church and himself faced persecution and rejection at the beginning but now enjoying acceptance by the grace of God.
Bishop Terkula in his word said;
“Initially and when it all started here, we were been rejected because we weren’t like the Roman Catholic Church already known worldwide but as we continued and the people saw our pattern of worship and lifestyle, they began to reason along and then believing in us. Today, we are happy because we are growing spiritually and physically “.
On his view in regard to insecurity in the state, the newly installed Bishop said it’s alarming even though Vandeikya Local Government is enjoying relative peace but the Governor is trying his best for the state”.
The second Ordinand, Bishop John Oamen Akhigbe also spoke on the efforts of the church in raising members that are built for heaven. The New Bishop who came all the way from Warri, Delta State for his Consecration thanked God for the journey so far.
“It has been God all the way. I am thankful to Him because if not Him, I won’t be here today. In terms of the ministry and the new lifting, we are ready to do more for God and the church”. Bishop John said.
