Following allegations of vote rigging in the recently held presidential elections, the Atiku Abubakar campaign council has declared that Nigeria will be the next African nation to annul a presidential election, which resulted in Bola Tinubu of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) winning the position.
Recall that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) recognized Tinubu as the election’s victor despite objections from the opposition political parties, who have since sued to overturn the result of the vote.
The failure of INEC to electronically transmit the results of the election from 176,606 polling places to a public portal in accordance with the commission’s regulations and guidelines was one of the grounds for the losing parties’ dispute.
A spokesperson for the Atiku campaign, Daniel Bwala, expressed optimism in a tweet that the alleged vote-rigging in Nigeria’s presidential election on February 25, 2023, will result in its annulment.
He continued by saying that after Kenya and Mali, Nigeria would be the third African nation to annul a presidential election.

After winning the country’s 2019 presidential election, Peter Mutharika, the former president of Malawi, was ousted from office by a constitutional court.
