Waziri: “I’d Remove This Government Tomorrow—If Democratic Means Were Available”

Former Minister of Police Affairs, Adamu Maina Waziri, has made a bold political statement, expressing his strong disapproval of the current administration under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Speaking during an interview on Channels Television, Waziri declared that he would not hesitate to remove the Tinubu-led government “tomorrow” if there were any democratic process available to do so.
“If I have the democratic means to remove this government tomorrow, I would remove this government,”
Waziri said.
He was, however, quick to clarify that no such means currently exist, and therefore he would wait for the next general elections, expected in two years.
“I don’t have the democratic means, so I have to wait. We are not planning to topple this government as Bayo Onanuga alleged. We will remove this government through democratic means,”
he added.
Waziri also dismissed recent allegations by the presidency—particularly comments made by Presidential Aide Bayo Onanuga—accusing opposition leaders of plotting to overthrow the government.
“It is cheap blackmail to say people are planning to oust the government. We are challenging this government through legitimate democratic channels,”
the former minister stated.
Waziri’s comments reflect growing political tension and dissatisfaction within opposition circles, even as the country prepares for the midway point of the Tinubu administration.
