Woman seeks justice for husband killed at INEC collation centre

Mrs. Oluwaseyi Akinfolarin, whose husband was fatally shot at a detention facility in Ondo State, has demanded the soldier’s arrest and prosecution.
She claims that a soldier working at the INEC collation center in Owena Ayetoro, Idanre local government area, shot her husband, Akinlabi Akinfolarin.

When Hon Festus Akingbaso, the winner of the House of Representatives seat for the Ifedore/Idanre Federal Constituency, went to receive his Certificate of Result, the deceased was among the supporters accompanying him.

He reportedly got into a fight with security personnel and was shot.

But in a conversation with journalists, his wife claimed that her late husband was not the political miscreant or thug that had been portrayed in the media.
She said, “My husband was a peace-loving man who harbor no resentments toward anyone. When we last spoke, he assured me that everything was fine. Surprisingly, the next call I received informed me that he had been murdered by a soldier.
