A heartwarming act of honesty by a young boy, identified as Michael, has drawn public admiration after he returned a phone accidentally dropped by Engr. Tony Bala Shammah (TBS).
The incident occurred yesterday at Akwanga, Nasarawa State when Engr. Shammah was stepping out of his car to greet some individuals and unknowingly dropped his mobile phone. Michael, who found the device, promptly returned it without attempting to tamper with it or demand a reward.
Deeply impressed by the boy’s integrity, Engr. Tony Bala Shammah invited Michael to his residence, where he commended him for his exemplary character. In a remarkable gesture of encouragement, Engr. Shammah pledged to sponsor Michael’s school fees for the entire academic session this year, in addition to giving him a cash gift.
Speaking through associates, Engr. Shammah emphasized that honesty remains a priceless virtue that deserves recognition, especially among young people, noting that rewarding such values helps build a better society.
The gesture, carried out under the TBS Foundation, has been widely praised as a powerful example of promoting moral values and investing in the future of children.
Observers say the act sends a strong message that integrity still matters and can open doors to life-changing opportunities.
