2025 Children’s Day: NAPPS Akwanga Set Community Agog with Fun fare

NAPPS Akwanga Chapter Coordinator Coordinator, Mrs Joy Oludu (Middle) flanked by her deputies.

 

The Convocation Square, Nasarawa State College of Education, Akwanga, was abuzz with excitement as NAPPS Akwanga chapter celebrated International Children’s Day on May 27th setting the entire community agog with lots of fun fare.

The event brought together pupils from various schools in Akwanga and its environs, showcasing their talents and creativity.

It featured an array of activities, including sports, debates, choreography, cultural dances, drama, speeches, and poem presentations. Some highlights included Debates as Pupils from St. Peter’s Nursery/Primary School and De-Ultimate Glory Academy engaged in a thought-provoking debate on “All schools should be private.” Another debate battle between The Samuel’s Academy, Angbaku, and De-Ultimate Academy, Akwanga, tackled the topic “Poor parenting, a key factor to child trafficking and prostitution.”

Also in the event, Powerful speech presentation by a pupil of Sky Base Nursery & Primary School, Drama performance by pupils of Maimunat Global Academy as French poem presentation set the Convocation Square agog, with choreography, cultural dances, and a match pass adding colour to the ceremony.

TEC News correspondent reports that Parents in the occasion were seen enjoying the day as they won’t stop applauding their children and confirming every word expressed in the debate, co-performed the cultural dances and other presentations.

 

Likewise the children were obviously catching fun cheering up their friends as they perform in the occasion.

The speech of the National President of NAPPS, Hajia Samira Jibir, Phd, FNAF, FIMC became the message of the event alongside key note address of the Chapter Coordinator, Mrs Joy Oludu with other goodwill messages from notable Proprietors and guests such as the Former NAPPS Akwanga Chapter Chairman and North Central Zonal Secretary, Apst Johnson Da-Silva who applauded the efforts informs participants that the program shall be sustained as Akwanga residents and environs are free to look forward to May 27 of every year as it promises to be interesting per season.

The immediate past Akwanga Chapter Coordinator of NAPPS, Mrs Peace Agu Applauded the Executives and congratulates the entire family NAPPS family.

 

Representatives from the Area Inspectorate Office, AIO, Local Gorvernment Education Authority, LGEA all graced the occasion with the Coordinator of National Orientation Agency, NOA, Akwanga speaking on behalf of the office highlighted the roles of the Teachers , Parent and Students in the development of the young and pleaded that skills be taught in the schools as the government has schemed since white collar job are no more available.

The Master of Ceremonies, Mr. Toks popularly known as Coach Toks, kept the audience entertained throughout the celebration and won’t stop appreciating Private Schools as music fills the air per time.

 

“I am very elated to be here. I am so happy as Private Schools have made me Fulfilled today. I am leaving this place a better person because I have really learnt. The debate presenters are wonderful as they spoke nothing but the truth. Parents should also learn. Do not trust anyone with your kids. I repeat, do not trust anyone with your kids. Government teachers here should also go home to make adjustment”. Mr Toks said.

The event was climaxed with the presentation of awards to deserving schools and individuals including the Local Government Chairman, Hon Safiyanu Andaha who couldn’t grace the occasion due to reasons yet unknown, and Certificates presentation made to winners in football, relay race, debates, and other activities, recognizing and rewarding the children’s outstanding performances.

The event was decades by participants a resounding success, putting smiles on the faces of the children and showcasing their talents with parents as they could not hide their joy.

 

The salute were taken by the Former North Central Zonal Secretary and the Chapter Coordinator.

May 27 is annually celebrated as it is dedicated to mark Children’s Day globally.
