Flood Wreaks Havoc in Logo 2 Community Near BSU College of Health, Gboko Road

TEC News! Gboko, Benue State | June 25, 2025.

Residents of Logo 2, a student-dominated community located opposite the Benue State University (BSU) College of Health gate along Gboko Road, were left stranded and distressed following a massive flood that hit the area after hours of heavy rainfall on Saturday, June 22, 2025.

According to residents, the rain began around 5:57 a.m. and continued relentlessly until approximately 10:59 am., submerging houses, streets, and drainage systems. The flood rendered the entire area inaccessible, echoing a similar incident that occurred in the same locality last year.

Images and videos shared by affected residents reveal flooded rooms, with occupants seen struggling to salvage their belongings amid rising water levels. One of the victims, identified only as Hannah, made a passionate appeal to the government and relevant authorities for urgent intervention.

“This flooding has become a recurring nightmare. The weather forecast for this season is alarming, and we are scared of what our area could become if nothing is done. We need proper drainage systems and preventive measures before it gets worse,” she said.

Airforce In Trouble as Officer Dies In Custody Days After Being Detained for late resumption due to illness

    TEC News!

Trouble for Nigeria Air force as the Command in Bauchi State is alledged making frantic efforts to cover up the incident of an officer, Wulumba A.S, who died in the guardroom after he was detained for arriving late to duty due to an illness according to reports.

TEC News gathered that Wulumba, a member of the 2003 regular intake and attached to the elite Special Operations Command (SOC) in Bauchi, passed away while being held in the guardroom on the orders of his commanding officer, one Group Captain Ofile.

His service number was NAF 03/21103.

According to his devastated sister, Numdarai Joy Wulumba, her brother had reached out to her on May 4, 2025, to inform her of his detention.

He had reported late to his duty post after suffering health complications, but despite explaining his condition, the Commander allegedly ignored his plea and ordered his detention.

“My late brother called me that day to say he was being sent to the guardroom. He said his offence was arriving late due to illness, but his commander wouldn’t listen. After that call, we never heard from him again — until we were told yesterday (Friday) that he was dead,” Numdarai recounted tearfully.

She further expressed disbelief and outrage over the military’s handling of the situation.

“I’ve lived near military formations all my life. I know the rules. Detention for minor offences like lateness is not supposed to exceed 24 hours. He should have been court-martialled if necessary — not locked up indefinitely. Now he’s gone. Let them enjoy the consequences.”

While Nigerians wonder what the response of the Chief of Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar of the Nigeria Air Force (NAF) and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu would be, the family of Wulumba remain devastated and in mourning .

Update shall be reported as issues progresses.
