The Federal Government has released admission lists for Junior Secondary School One (JSS 1) into its 80 Federal Unity Colleges across the country.
In a statement issued Tuesday, the Director of Press and Public Relations at the Federal Ministry of Education, Boriowo Folasade, said the exercise marks a key step in ensuring transparency, efficiency, and proper capacity management in the colleges.
According to the ministry, the reform—championed by the Minister of Education, Dr. Maruf Tunji Alausa—makes admissions fully automated and restricted to each school’s approved capacity. The move is designed to end the problem of overstretched facilities and arbitrary placements.
“This reform guarantees fairness, operational efficiency, and sustained quality in our Federal Unity Colleges,” Dr. Alausa said.
Director of Senior Secondary Education, Hajia Binta Abdulkadri, described the automation as a “game-changer” for the education sector. She noted that the new system aligns student intake with available capacity, ensuring a better learning environment while improving accountability and standards across all colleges.
The ministry added that admission into the 42 Federal Technical Colleges under the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) programme would be released soon.
Parents and guardians have been advised to check admission results on the Ministry’s official website.

the statement said.
