Okezie Ikpeazu, the governor of Abia State, gave his approval on Thursday for all of his political appointees to be immediately dissolved.
All Special Assistants, Senior Special Assistants, Special Advisers, and Technical Officers are affected, according to a statement from the Secretary to the State Government, Barr. Chris Ezem.

The governor further instructed the State Accountant General to ensure that all departing appointees receive their March 2023 stipends right away.
The governor wished them luck in their future endeavors and thanked them for their contributions and services to the state.
