Innoson Vehicles, Nigeria’s indigenous automobile manufacturer, has awarded a N3 million scholarship to Ejikeme Joy, the overall best-performing candidate in the recently completed Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, UTME.
According to the company’s Chairman, Dr. Innocent Chukwuma, this is proof of the company’s commitment to academic excellence.
He stated that the gesture is a celebration of academic excellence as well as a reflection of the company’s commitment to investing in the education of young Nigerians.
He went on to say that the scholarship will go a long way toward helping Ejikeme Joy finance her tertiary education over the next five years.
“Vehicles’ decision to award the scholarship to the best UTME candidate is laudable, as it not only rewards academic excellence but also serves as an inspiration to other students to strive for excellence in their academic pursuits,” he says.
“We will continue to demonstrate our commitment to social responsibility through a variety of initiatives, such as scholarship awards, job creation, and community support.”

Ejikeme Joy, an Enugu State native who now lives in Nnewi with his father, an Okada rider, thanked the Chairman for the scholarship and promised to make him proud.
With a score of 362 in the 2023 UTME, Ejikeme Joy, a student at Anglican Girls Secondary School in Nnewi, Anambra state, emerged as the overall best student. Joy received 98 percent in English Language, 89 percent in Physics, 94 percent in Biology, and 81 percent in Chemistry.
