Following the recent presidential election, the South African branch of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has urged Nigerians to stand together to support the country’s fledgling democratic process.
At a town hall event to celebrate the election of President-Elect Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the body’s chairman and a member of the Presidential Campaign Council, Otunba Oyekanmi Oluwatoyin, said this while accepting a letter of appreciation from the council for the enormous assistance provided by the diaspora body in the recently concluded elections.
He was chosen to serve as the Tinubu Support Organization’s senior special adviser for African matters (TSO).

Also recognized at the event were the APC South Africa chapter and the party apparatus under the direction of Hon. Otunba Oyekanmi Oluwatoyin, who serves as the long-term Executive Member of the Presidential campaign council (PCC) Office of the Secretary.
According to Oyekanmi, Tinubu’s election as president-elect demonstrated that votes cast from all regions helped him win the election.
“Electorates looked through his track record, his nationwide reach and strength to canvass for votes from the electorates and his overall role in championing the democratic system of governance in Nigeria,” he said. “His resilience played a major role since the return to the democratic system of government in the nation.”
