APC Chairmen Vow to Produce People-Centered Governorship Candidate for 2027 in Nasarawa

As preparations for the 2027 general elections gather momentum, the All Progressives Congress (APC) leadership in Nasarawa West has pledged to ensure that the party fields its best candidate for the governorship race—one who will prioritize the interests and welfare of the people.
This resolution was reached at a strategic meeting of the Forum of APC Chairmen in Nasarawa West over the weekend.
In a statement signed by the convener, Mallam Mohammed Bello Yakub (Keffi), the forum said the deliberations focused on one overriding mission: “installing the successor of Governor Abdullahi Sule” in 2027.
The meeting also marked the beginning of a united campaign to push for the zoning of the governorship seat to Nasarawa West Senatorial District after two decades.
According to Yakub, stakeholders in the zone will collaborate with the Senator Abdullahi Adamu-led caucus to identify and support a candidate based strictly on merit, competence, and proven commitment to public service—while rejecting any process influenced by divisive politics or narrow sentiment.
“The people of Nasarawa State deserve excellence, and the Western Zone will not settle for less. Our mission is clear: to ensure the APC presents a candidate who embodies the aspirations of our people—one with the competence and the heart to build on the progressive foundations laid by the current administration. This process will be transparent, guided by the party’s constitution and the collective good,” the statement read.
In a further show of solidarity, the forum passed a vote of confidence on Governor Abdullahi Sule, applauding his leadership style and developmental achievements across the state.
The chairmen reaffirmed their total loyalty to both Governor Sule and the APC’s constitution, stressing their commitment to working for the unity and progress of Nasarawa State.
