The Muslim-Muslim ticket of the All Progressives Congress, according to Delta State Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, has caused the chapel in Aso Rock to be closed for four years. Okowa lamented that this is not God’s will (APC).
At a gathering of the Isoko Church Leaders Council on Friday in Oleh, in the Isoko South local government area of the state, Okowa pleaded for people to engage in sincere prayer and to inspire the church of Christ to keep praying.
“In my opinion, now is the time for us to live in the presence of God so that His will may be carried out in our state and throughout Nigeria. This is not the time to be sad; it is the time for us to stand up in faith. The church needs to be meditative, watchful, and introspective.
The governor prayed that the chapel in Government House, Asaba, would endure to the glory of God and urged the church to keep praying for the state and the country.

Okowa claimed that the election’s outcome was compromised and that it was not God’s will in relation to last Saturday’s elections.
We anticipated the manipulation of the election, and the church of Christ prayed against the circumstance in which we currently find ourselves, according to Okowa.
While pleading with religious leaders and Deltans to support Sheriff Oborevwori, the PDP candidate for governor in the state, in the March 11 general election, the governor also urged them to support all PDP candidates for the Delta State House of Assembly in various constituencies throughout the state.

Sheriff Oborevwori, according to Okowa, was a God-fearing man who had the necessary experience to spur more development in the state. He also said he was grateful for the forum’s members giving him the chance to speak with them.
He claimed that if elected governor, the state’s House of Assembly speaker and PDP candidate would maintain the pace of infrastructure and human capital development achieved in the state by his administration.
Speaking at the ceremony, Sheriff Oborevwori, the state’s PDP candidate and speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, asked the church and other religious authorities in the state for assistance in helping him win the March 11 election.
