A pastor’s son was killed by bandits on Friday morning in Karimbu-Kahugu community in Lere Local Government Area of Kaduna State, and four other family members, including the pastor’s wife, were taken hostage.
According to Peter Mukaddas, vice chairman of the Kahugu National Development Association in Lere Local Government Area, the bandits attacked the pastor’s home on Friday morning after breaking into the neighborhood early.
He claimed that the robbers shot the pastor’s son when he resisted them before kidnapping his wife and three other family members.
Mukaddas urged the state government to step in and save the kidnapped victims without incident. We’re fervently pleading with God to change their hearts so they can see the sense to let them go, the man said.
As of the time this report was filled out, the bandits and families of the victims had not yet spoken.
The Kaduna State Police Command Public Relations Officer, DSC Mohammed Jalige, did not answer his calls or reply to texts sent to him in the meantime.
