Breaking: Human Rights Body Petition the Nigerian Police Over Alleged Corruption, Commercialization of the Police Force Duties, Other offences by some Police Officers.

The Center for Human Rights and Social Justice (CHRSJ) has written a petition against some members of the Nigerian Police Force serving in the southwest Nigeria over alleged Offences of Indiscipline, commercialization of duties, Bribery, Corruption, Incompetence, lackadaisical attitude to work amongst other offenses raised against the officers involved.

In the content of the letter made available to TEC News, the Center for Human Rights and Social Justice further accused the said officers who are twelve (12) in numbers identified through an incident was further accused of turning a reported case against the complaint and turned as defenders to the suspect reported and as the complainant insisted on charging the case to court,  the officers involved pleaded with the supposed complainant to let go the suspect without justice taking due cause.

Other offences in the document sent to TEC News include Abuse of Office, Power Intustication, Embarrassment, Dereliction of Service and Sabotaging the Duties of the Nigerian Police Force.

The ‘CHRSJ’ document with the caption, ‘Petition Against‘ a woman Police Inspector and 11 other Police Personnel including High Ranking Officers with some reportedly to be Serving in Ogun State and Others Serving at Osogbo Police Divisional Area, dated 14th August, 2023 and signed by the National President, Comrade Adeniyi Alimi Suleiman was addressed to the Office of the Chairman, Nigerian Police Service Commission (NPSC) through the Inspector General of Police (IGP) and other Police Protocols.

The Human Rights body led by comrade Adeniyi Alimi Suleiman demanded that the Nigerian Police Force carry out Investigate the allegations content in the Petition, Interrogations and Outright Dismissal of the affected Officers in other to sanitize the Police Force and prevent further sabotage of the efforts to put the force in a better light before the public.

“PETITION AGAINST THE WOMAN POLICE INSPECTOR, “SHERIFAT BALOGUN, ATTACHED TO THE LAFENWA POLICE STATION, SUPOL ADEWALE* *ADEYINKA, INSPECTOR ADEGOKE, ALL ATTACHED TO THE OGUN STATE POLICE COMMAND, ELEWERAN, ABEOKUTA, OGUN STATE, NIGERIA AND ONE SUPOL ALEX OSIEME, AN ACCLAIMED DIVISIONAL POLICE OFFICER(DPO) OF EGBEDORE DIVISIONAL POLICE STATION, AWO INCLUDING THE CRIME CONSPIRATORS DIVISIONAL CRIME OFFICERS(DCO), ONE OFFICER BAMIDELE, YAKUBU OLUWAKEMI, “WPC” OPEYEMI, ATTACHED TO EDE “PEERE” DIVISIONAL POLICE STATION IN OSUN STATE, NIGERIA WITH THE ASSISTANT INSPECTOR GENERAL OF POLICE(AIG), INSPECTOR TIMOTHY SANDRAC, ONE POLICE OFFICER LEKAN ALEBA, INSPECTOR SAHEED ANIFOWOSE, WOMAN POLICE OFFICER RACHEAL AFOLABI, AND THEIR LAWLESS ZONAL DEPUTY COMMISSIONER OF POLICE(DCP), ALL ATTACHED TO THE “ZONE-XI ZONAL POLICE COMMAND”, OSOGBO, OSUN STATE NIGERIA; FOR THE OFFENCES OF INDISCIPLINE, BRIBERY AND CORRUPTION, INCOMPETENCE, LACKADISICAR ATTITUDE TO THE GOVERNMENT WORKS, COMPLICITY, ABUSED OF OFFICE/ POWER INTOSICATION, EMBARRASSING, DERELICTION OF SERVICE AND SABOTAGING THE NIGERIA POLICE FORCE(NPF) DUTIES; THE HUMAN RIGHTS GROUP DEMANDED FOR THE IMMEDIATE INVESTIGATION, INTERROGATION AND OUTRIGHT DISMISSAL OF THESE AFOREMENTIONED NOTORIOUS SUSPECTED WOLF POLICE OFFICERS IN THE SHEEP CLOTHES (NIGERIA POLICE UNIFORMS) BEFORE THEY CAN INFLUENCE, INFLICTED AND SKYROCKETED THEIR INDIOSHYCRETIC CRIMINALITY TENDENCY OF DIRTY INTENTIONS AND ATTITUDES INTO THE BLOOD OF OTHER GENUINE AND CLEAN POLICE OFFICERS IN ANY WHERE YOU ATTACHED THEM TO IN THE COUNTRY, AS IT’S VERY DANGEROUS TO THE NATIONS POLICING IF YOU ALLOW THEIR ANTICEDENT TO TRAVAIL.”

He further said in the petition that;

“It’s flarbbergastidy and demoralized, even it was amazing that the Police could turn to the defensive body in support of suspected defendants, while the Complainant(s) insisted to charge the Suspected People to Court, and the Police turned to begging the Complainants in favour of Suspects, because of the stipends being allegedly received from some of the allegedly suspected notorious criminals, local terrorists, dangerous attackers, encroachers, trespassers, and their cohorts by becoming the tool in the hands of the dick and harry, which is absolutely turned some Police Officers, into the bunch of ingnoramour, and their always using for the delusions of grandnurm and instrument of constabulary mentality, incompetence with dogmatism, which their always like to followed the allegedly notorious attackers, intruders, troublesome and wanted suspected dangerous human being dogmatically without application of the Olfactory-lobes and Cerebrum, which some Investigative Officers that supposed to apply the decorum of Magnative and Pragmatism to the investigation’s, in other to assist the Nigeria Policing and our great country to be crime free Nation, among the International State System of the world”.

The Centre for Human Rights and Social Justice (CHRSJ) has further urged the Police authority to bring the sanity to the policing system of the land by cautioning the men of Nigeria Police Force (NPF) against their open commercialization of the police constitutional duties across the length and breadth of the country, and we also called on the Chairman, Police Service Commission(PSC) and the Executive Secretary, National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) with other concern authorities to team up with the new Acting Inspector General of Police (IGP), Dr. Kayode Egbetokun, to get these mentioned and others rid of open corruption in the nation’s Police system, which we continuous saying that the occurrence was not augur well for the country in among the comity of nations of the world, as we took the instance of the present mentioned acclaimed Police Officers of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF), by commercializing and criminalizing every single activity including important investigation on the issue of national importance, of the Police in the Command, requesting for money called “mobilization fees” before they can performed any simple constitutional duty, the criminality habits of the highest order that is contrary to all Nigeria laws, most especially in the section(98, 99, and 494) of the criminal code, and section(172, 209) and 5th Schedule, Part(1), section(6 & 8) of the (1999), FRN Constitution as (Amended), and in addition that, for the Police officers to shamelessly demanding for a “pure bribe, which is liable to the Seven(7) Years Imprisonment with hard labour and outright dismissal from the service”.

The “CHRSJ” further requested from the Police boss to direct the Alagbon Force Annex Headquarter’s, Ikoyi-Lagos, to do the needful by concluding the investigation and Charge the Matter to Court without Prejudice and not to do any further delay on the matter reported through the Petition Letters dated on Wednesday 2nd day of March, 2022.

Finally, as we are formally requesting your good office’s to intervene in this matters/Cases, we expect your response in using the rule of law, due Process and democratic procedure in the judgment of this matters, as against the rule of brigandage exercises/draconian law that dramatized and still Plan to further it by the those allegedly suspected defendants of this Petition, which made all other former intervention body lack the authority to enforce their constitutional duty than to involved in the indubitable fact that jungle rule of delusive demagogues desperadoes that are being satanically entrenched in their side as a smack of flaws, bias, prejudice, insincerity, travesty of justice and undemocratic favouritism with barbaric conspiracy.

Consequently, we are formally requesting your good offices to quickly intervene in this matters as a matter of urgency, as we count on the powerful capabilities of your good offices to expedite the necessary action in a jiffy, for a… “Stitch in Time Saves Nine, and as an Injury to One is an Injury to All”; As further and absolutely know that the “CRIME ignored, is a Pure and Complete CRIME”.
