Nasarawa State Announces Second Term Resumption Dates for 2025/2026 Academic Session

The Nasarawa State Government has announced the resumption dates for the second term of the 2025/2026 academic session for all public and private schools across the state.
The government in a statement by the Ministry of Education, dated 5th January, 2026, approved the resumption schedule in line with the state’s approved 2025/2026 school academic calendar.
The statement signed by the Honourable Commissioner for Education disclosed that boarding secondary schools, both public and private, were to resume on Sunday, 11th January, 2026.
”Meanwhile, all private schools, primary schools, and public day secondary schools are scheduled to resume academic activities on Monday, 12th January, 2026.
”Parents and guardians are advised to ensure that their children and wards return to school promptly.”
The ministry also directed principals and head teachers to commence full academic activities immediately from Monday, 12th January, 2026.
It further directed all Chief Evaluation Officers (CEOs) across the state to closely monitor schools and ensure strict compliance with the resumption directive.
The announcement was signed by Mohammed Sani Bala, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education, on behalf of the Honourable Commissioner.
The Nasarawa State Government reiterated its commitment to maintaining an orderly academic calendar and ensuring quality education delivery across all schools in the state.
