Adaora Umeoji, who has served as Zenith Bank’s deputy chief executive officer since 2016, has left the company, the country’s largest bank by market value announced on Thursday.
Mrs. Umeoji officially retired on February 24th, according to a regulatory filing that was published on the Nigerian Exchange website.
This is in accordance with the Central Bank of Nigeria’s (CBN) circular No.FPR/DIR/PUB/CIR/001/070 dated February 24, 2023, which states that her term as Deputy Managing Director has expired.

After joining the bank in 1998, Mrs. Umeoji was later made the head of the marketing group at the Maitama branch and the deputy zonal head of the Abuja Zone.
After joining the Zenith Bank board in October 2012, she was appointed executive director, in charge of the bank’s Abuja and Middle Belt zones.
According to the bank, Mrs. Umeoji received a Bachelor of Science in Sociology from the University of Jos in 1996.
In 2003, she graduated from the University of Calabar with a Master’s in Business Administration.
