Ekiti Residents Cry Out Over Deplorable Condition of Itawure/Erio/Aramoko Road
TEC News!
The deplorable condition of the Itawure/Erio/Aramoko road, which leads to the Ekiti State capital, Ado-Ekiti, has sparked an outrage among residents.
The road, which has been tagged as a Federal Road, has been in a terrible state for years, causing untold hardship to commuters and crippling the local economy.
TEC News gathered that the Residents are questioning why influential sons and daughters of Ekiti, who are part of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and hold key positions in the Federal Government, have not intervened to repair the road.
It would be recalled that the Ekiti State Government, under previous administrations, had reportedly rehabilitated the road, but the current state of disrepair has raised questions about the effectiveness of those efforts.
The situation has prompted calls for action from various stakeholders, including traditional rulers, clergy, market leaders, and human rights activists.
Prince Oriwaye J. Adefolalu, Secretary of Ekitiparapo, University of Lagos, has written an open letter to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, appealing for his intervention in the matter.
The letter, which poses several questions about the neglect of the road, ends with a call to action, urging all stakeholders to rise up and demand better from their leaders.
“Don’t we have influencials sons and daughters of Ekiti that are part of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu lead FGN since this road has been tagged Federal Road? Is Ekiti State inn Opposition to the Rulling Party APC ?” Prince Oriwaye asked in the letter.
The people of Ekiti are eagerly awaiting a response from the federal government and are hoping that their cries will be heard and addressed soon.

“ON THE TERRIBLE SITUATION OF ITAWURE/ERIO/ARAMOKO ROAD THAT IS LEADING TO ADO-EKITI, THE EKITI STATE CAPITAL, THE QUESTION WE SHOULD ASK OUR SELVES, AS EKITI SONS AND DAUGHTERS, ARE:
1. DON’T WE HAVE INFLUENCIAL SONS AND DAUGHTERS OF EKITI THAT ARE PART OF PRESIDENT BOLA AHMED TINUBU LEAD FGN SINCE THIS ROAD HAS BEEN TAGGED AS FEDERAL ROAD?
2. IS EKITI STATE IN OPPOSITION TO THE RULING PARTY, APC?
3. WE THOUGHT THAT DURING THE TENURES OF DR. PETER AYO FAYOSE AND DR. JOHN KAYODE FAYEMI AS GOVERNORS OF EKITI RESPECTIVELY, EKITI STATE GOVERNMENT REHABILITATED THE ROAD. HOW DID THEY GO ABOUT IT THEN?
4. NOW THAT ALL THE PAST GOVERNORS OF EKITI -STATE ( OTUNBA NIYI ADEBAYO, DR. PETER AYO FAYOSE, EGNR. SEGUN ONI AND DR. JOHN KAYODE FAYEMI) ARE IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE INCUMBENT GOVERNOR, HIS EXCELLENCY BIODUN ABAYOMI OYEBANJI ( BAO), WHAT HAS THEIR PARTNERSHIP FETCHED EKITI OR GOT TO OFFER?
5. WHAT ABOUT OUR SENATORS, AMONGST WHO WE HAVE THE SENATE LEADER, SEN. OPEYEMI MICHAEL BAMIDELE AND THE MOUTHPIECE OF THE SENATE, SEN. YEMI ADARAMODU. DON’T THEY HAVE ANY INFLUENCE?
6. ARE WE SAYING THAT THERE ARE NO MORE INFLUENCIAL ELITES IN THAT AXIS?
7. THERE IS NO DOUBT THAT THE BAD AND TERRIBLE CONDITION OF THE ROAD MUST HAVE PARALYZED THE ECONOMY OF PEOPLE OF THAT AXIS. ARE THERE NO MORE IYALOJA AND BABALOJA IN THAT AREA THAT CAN STAGE A PEACEFUL PROTEST?
8. WHAT ABOUT THE YOUTHS AND HUMAN RIGHTS ACTIVISTS. NO MORE ACTIONS?
9. OUR ROYAL FATHERS IN THAT AXIS, HAVE YOU RELOCATED TO SOMEWHERE ELSE?
10. CLERGY MEN AND WOMEN, NO MORE ANOINTING OIL OR NIGHT VIGIL?
LET’S ALL RISE UP TO OUR VARIOUS RESPONSIBILITIES. AS EKITI OF GOOD ORIGIN WOULD SAY, ” K’OLONI KO BA TI DA’KE SE LI T’ONI A MO BA D’AKE O. HIN MO JA TA GIRI. OSI MEJI MO GBUDO TA OKU ORUPO, KE L’ENI HO MO YE KE L’ASO.”
TO OUR AMIABLE PRESIDENT OF FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF NIGERIA, HIS EXCELLENCY BOLA AHMED TINUBU, a.k.a. OMO OLODO IDE, PLEASE, HELP US IN THIS REGARDS.
LONG LIVE EKITI!
LONG LIVE FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF NIGERIA!
