Gov. Sule Flags Off ₦39bn Twin Flyover Project on Nyanya–Mararaba–Karu–Keffi Expressway

Nasarawa State Governor, Engr. Abdullahi A. Sule, has officially flagged off the construction of a ₦39 billion twin flyover project along the Nyanya–Mararaba–Karu–Keffi Expressway, a major route linking the Federal Capital Territory to Nasarawa and other North-Central states.
The project, spanning 2.6 kilometres, is aimed at easing the heavy daily traffic gridlock along the corridor, cutting down travel time, reducing economic losses caused by long commuting hours, and boosting overall economic and security activities in the area.
Speaking during the ceremony held in Mararaba, Karu Local Government Area, on Friday, December 5, 2025, Governor Sule said the state has already made an upfront payment of ₦19 billion to the contractor to ensure speedy execution.
He disclosed that the contractor is expected to complete and deliver the flyover within 18 months, expressing optimism that the project will bring long-term relief to millions of residents, traders, and workers who ply the route daily.
The governor described the initiative as a major infrastructural milestone for Nasarawa State and a strategic intervention on a federal road to stimulate socio-economic growth.
The Nyanya–Mararaba–Karu–Keffi Expressway remains one of the busiest travel corridors in the country, serving thousands of daily commuters between Abuja and neighbouring states.
With construction now underway, residents and road users are hopeful that the new flyover will bring lasting succor after years of heavy congestion and travel stress.
