In Nasarawa State Nigeria, 11 Local Government Areas have been earmarked to benefit from the supply and installation of plastic tanks for rainwater collections.

The Coordinator of the Agro-Climatic Resilience in Semi-Arid Landscapes (ACRESAL) in Nasarawa State, Dr Napoleon Gyobe, made this known during the bid opening ceremony held in Capital City of the State, Lafia City.
Dr Gyobe said the event signifies a major milestone in the World Bank’s commitment to promoting sustainable water management and improving the quality of life for rural dwellers under the ACRESAL project.
Dr Napoleon noted that the initiative goes beyond the mere provision of plastic tanks as it embodies a comprehensive approach aimed at equipping communities with the necessary skills and infrastructure to effectively harvest and utilise rainwater.
The State Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources, Mr Isaac Danladi, represented by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Hussaini Usman—reaffirmed the state government’s deliberate efforts to provide the necessary support for initiatives that contribute to the overall well-being of the people.
