Nasarawa Not Under Siege of Kidnappings, ADC’s Claims Baseless — Adon Garin Lafia

The Senior Special Assistant on Chieftaincy Affairs to Governor Abdullahi Sule, Prince Ibrahim Hassan Abdullahi, has dismissed allegations by the African Democratic Congress (ADC) that Nasarawa State is grappling with rampant kidnappings and killings, describing the claims as “complete fabrication.”
Abdullahi, who holds the traditional title Adon Garin Lafia, issued the rebuttal on Sunday in response to a statement released by the ADC’s Publicity Secretary, Comrade Idris Ojoko. The opposition party had raised concerns about what it described as rising insecurity across the state and urged the government to take urgent action.
In a strongly worded response, the Governor’s Aide accused the ADC of peddling falsehoods to score political points, insisting that the party’s claims do not reflect the true situation in the state.
According to him, the communities mentioned by the ADC including Doma, Obi, and Keana remain peaceful, with no record of the alleged widespread kidnappings or killings.
He challenged the opposition party to provide verifiable evidence to back its claims or identify specific incidents to justify its assertions.
“We are confident that no such evidence exists. The people of Doma, Obi, and Keana are living peacefully and have continued to appreciate Governor Sule’s efforts in ensuring their safety,” he said.
Abdullahi added that residents in the affected areas have consistently commended the state government for its achievements in security, infrastructure, and economic development, expressing their full support for Governor Sule’s administration.
He criticized the ADC for resorting to “falsehoods and propaganda” rather than offering constructive criticism or meaningful contributions to the state’s development.
“This clearly shows that the ADC is more focused on political grandstanding than on the progress of Nasarawa State,” he added.
Prince Abdullahi urged citizens to disregard what he described as divisive statements aimed at misleading the public, and to continue supporting the government’s efforts toward a more peaceful and prosperous state.
“We remain proud of the gains recorded under Governor Sule, especially in the area of security, and we will not relent in ensuring that Nasarawa remains safe and welcoming for all,” he stated.
