According to Chief Franklin Ekechukwu, the founder of the Atiku Diaspora Support Group based in the US, Nigeria needs a president who is well-known internationally as well as versatile and experienced in executive and business roles.

In a statement released on Wednesday in Lagos and titled “Last Appeal and Submission Before the 2023 Presidential Election,” Ekechukwu claimed that such a person could be found in Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, the PDP’s presidential candidate.

He claimed that Nigeria possessed all the necessary economic foundational elements to rank among the world’s superpowers.

He believed that a great leader, like Abubakar, would bring out the best in Nigerians and the nation as a whole.

This is extremely important because Nigeria as a nation needs to sell itself to the world once more, according to Ekechukwu.

At this crucial juncture, only Atiku Abubakar can command the respect of investors, business leaders, and world leaders.

‘Fellow Nigerians, I appeal to your conscience that, come 2023, let Nigeria begin anew as a country and as a people by electing that leader who has the qualities to jump start our country on the first day. This is for the love of our country, the future of your children, and the next generation.

“It is imperative that I make my case for the love of our country as we draw closer to the most significant date in 2023 and are aware that this election is the most significant in our lifetimes.”

For the sake of Nigeria and its future, he pleaded with Nigerians to vote for Abubakar.

“I contend that Nigeria has the potential to be one of the greatest nations in the world, but as of right now, because of our decisions, we are living in mediocrity.

The truth is, and it is a fact, I know we have been hearing these words for the majority of our lives,” he continued.

Ekechukwu stated that in order to accurately assess the qualities of candidates running for president, the nation must get rid of sentiments, especially the sense of belonging and entitlement.

“Nigeria needs a President who is accepted by every tribe, one who is respected by every leader of every tribe in Nigeria, one who could quickly bring the nation together and convene all parties to the negotiating table in unison,” he said.

“At this point, it is more important than ever for Nigerians to view the nation through the same prism and lens and resolve all the issues that are destroying it without making concessions to any one particular sect.

“We must all recognize that as a nation, we are in this together, with one destiny for all,” he said.

Nigeria needs a leader who can connect with the populace, claims Ekechukwu.

Nigeria needs a leader who “can identify the suffering of the poor, the middle class, the rich, and the stupidly rich” and who has experienced various stages of life.

“Yes, the wealthy and obscenely wealthy have problems of their own, but the poor and middle class may not have the same issues.

Because he has experienced all the stages of life that all Nigerians, regardless of status, have, His Excellency Atiku Abubakar can relate to all Nigerians.

His life experience broadens from growing up as an orphan to becoming wealthy.

“I’m sure His Excellency understands what it’s like to go to bed hungry, as the majority of Nigerians do right now, being an orphan himself. This alone ought to get your vote, he said.

He advised those who desired to lead Nigeria as president to be familiar with the traditional or customary government structure of the nation.

In addition to Nigeria having a presidential system of government, it is crucial to comprehend the traditional form of government in use there.

He continued, “In the country, we have Kings, Emirs, Obas, Igwes, and other titled traditional rulers.
