Osimhen Speaks on Pst Chris Oyakilome, Christ Embassy.

Super Eagles striker and African football star, Victor Osimhen, has shared a personal account of how Christ Embassy Church and its founder, Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, supported him during a difficult period of his life before his rise to global football prominence.
Osimhen disclosed that after completing secondary school, he was forced to stop playing football for about two years due to financial challenges facing his family. As the youngest child, he said he felt a strong responsibility to contribute to the household income.
According to the footballer, he worked at Christ Embassy Church, directly under Pastor Chris, alongside about 15 youths from his neighborhood, distributing Rhapsody of Realities devotional books. He noted that the work provided steady income, new friendships, and exposure at a time when he needed stability.
Osimhen further stated that the church provided feeding, prayers, and accommodation, adding that he lived within the church premises for nearly five months, returning home only on weekends to see his family.
Describing Pastor Chris as kind-hearted, Osimhen said the experience shaped his perspective on the role of the church in society. He explained that his continued financial support for Christ Embassy is based on firsthand knowledge of its community impact.
Responding to criticisms that churches do not contribute meaningfully to society, Osimhen argued that many faith-based institutions quietly provide schools, hospitals, water projects, and social support, often without media attention.
He concluded by urging Nigerians and Africans to acknowledge churches that are making positive contributions to their communities.
