President Tinubu Appoints New Service Chiefs

In a decisive move to further strengthen Nigeria’s security architecture, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved key changes in the leadership of the nation’s Armed Forces.
According to a statement issued by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Public Communication, Mr. Sunday Dare, the President appointed General Olufemi Oluyede as the new Chief of Defence Staff, succeeding General Christopher Musa.
Other newly appointed Service Chiefs include:
1. Major-General W. Shaibu – Chief of Army Staff
2. Air Vice Marshal S.K. Aneke – Chief of Air Staff
3. Rear Admiral I. Abbas – Chief of Naval Staff
Meanwhile, Major-General E.A.P. Undiendeye retains his position as Chief of Defence Intelligence.

President Tinubu, who serves as the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, expressed deep appreciation to the outgoing Service Chiefs for their patriotic service and dedicated leadership. He urged the newly appointed officers to justify the confidence reposed in them by enhancing the professionalism, vigilance, and unity that define the Nigerian Armed Forces.
The statement emphasized that all the appointments take immediate effect.
