According to the Allied Peoples Movement, it will only call one witness to the Presidential Election Petition Court to testify in support of its petition.
The party stated that it would only call one witness, and that witness would testify three days later.
APM’s attorney, Mr. Shehu Abubakar, reported to the court on the agreed witness streamlining, saying that the star witness would give the evidence-in-chief in 20 minutes, cross-examination would take 25 minutes, and re-examination would take five minutes.
According to Abubakar, the parties exchanged documents that would be relied upon by each party.
The Independent National Electoral Commission’s legal representative, for his part, claimed that the electoral body was not invited to the meeting between the petitioner and the respondents.
According to him, the commission only had one witness to back up this petition and would need one day to do so.
The APC stated that it largely agreed with the petitioner’s report and added that it would take five days to call one witness in support of this petition.
Akin Olujimi, SAN, the attorney for Sen. Bola Tinubu and Mr. Kashim Shettima, announced that he would call three witnesses, including two who would be subpoenaed.
He continued by saying that he would need four days to present his case.
He stated that he would need 25 minutes to conduct a cross-examination of the key witness.
Mr. Kabiru Masari, the fifth defendant’s attorney, informed the court that he would call one witness and need one day to present his case.
The court set Tuesday for the delivery of its decision.
