Breaking: PRESIDENT TINUBU ORDERS NATIONAL FLAGS TO FLY AT HALF-STAFF IN HONOUR OF LATE PRESIDENT BUHARI

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has directed that all national flags across the country and at Nigerian missions abroad be flown at half-staff with immediate effect, in honour of former President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, who passed away this evening in London at about 4:30 p.m., following a prolonged illness.
The President described the death of his predecessor as a profound loss for the nation and emphasized the need for solemn reflection and unity during this period of mourning.
As part of the national tribute, President Tinubu has also instructed Vice President Kashim Shettima to travel to the United Kingdom without delay, to accompany the remains of the late former President back to Nigeria.
President Tinubu has personally reached out to the widow of the former President, Hajiya Aisha Buhari, to express his condolences and solidarity during this difficult time.
President Muhammadu Buhari served Nigeria with distinction—first as military Head of State from January 1984 to August 1985, and later as a democratically elected President for two terms between 2015 and 2023.
Further details regarding national mourning and funeral arrangements will be announced in due course.
