Tears flowed freely in Tudun Adabu, Obi Local Government Area, as family, friends and worshippers gathered to bid farewell to Pastor Emmanuel Aku Kujeh Jnr. and his wife, Charity, who died together in a motorcycle accident on 19 September 2023.
The couple were buried side by side in an emotional ceremony that drew church leaders, community members and well-wishers from far and near. Tributes described Pastor Emmanuel as a humble, visionary minister who poured his life into serving God and people, while Charity was remembered as a warm, supportive partner and a pillar of strength to her husband and the church.
During the service, officiating ministers urged mourners to reflect on the brevity of life and to live with purpose. They called on the congregation to take comfort in the Christian hope of eternal life even in the face of such loss.
As the coffins were lowered into the ground, sobs broke out among the crowd, a testimony to the deep impact the couple had made. Their sudden passing leaves a painful void in their family and the wider Nasarawa Christian community.
Yet amid the grief, worshippers prayed for God’s consolation on the bereaved and for strength for the church they left behind. Many vowed to keep alive the legacy of compassion, service and faith that Pastor Emmanuel and Charity embodied during their short but impactful lives.
