Insecurity Deepens in Nasarawa as Serving Police Officer Is Shot, Kidnapped, and Killed in Andaha

In a chilling reminder of the worsening security situation in Nasarawa State, a serving police officer has been brutally killed after being shot and abducted from his residence in Andaha community.
The deceased was an active-duty officer of the Nigerian Police Force. He was residing in Andaha of Akwanga Local Government Area where the fatal incident occurred. He hails from Kpukpawu village , Akwanga Local Government Area, Nasarawa State .
According to information available to TEC News, ASP Muazu was attacked at his home by suspected armed herdsmen. He was reportedly shot before being forcefully taken away by his attackers. His lifeless body was later found, confirming that he did not survive the ordeal.
The killing has sparked fear, outrage, and renewed concern among residents, as it highlights the growing vulnerability of both civilians and security personnel in parts of the state. Many community members describe the incident as evidence that insecurity in Nasarawa State has reached an alarming level.
ASP Nuhu Muazu is survived by three children, One daughter, who is his first child, and two sons. Family members, colleagues, and sympathizers have continued to mourn his death, describing him as a committed officer and a devoted father.
A Facebook post that brought the incident to public attention captured the collective grief of the moment, noting that “the sun has set, the moonlight has gone dim, and the drum of life has gone silent,” words that reflect the shock and pain felt across the community.
Residents have called on the Nasarawa State Government and security agencies to urgently investigate the killing, apprehend the perpetrators, and take decisive steps to restore safety in rural and semi-urban communities.
As condolences pour in, many have turned to faith for comfort, praying for the repose of the officer’s soul and strength for his family. The Nigerian Police is yet to issue any official statement in regard to the incident as at press time.
