Oyo State’s Governor Seyi Makinde has been re-elected to office for another term.
On Saturday, voting took place in each of the state’s 33 local government areas.
Makinde, who ran for office on the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) platform, has been named the election’s victor.
Makinde, who is running for reelection, defeated all other candidates, according to Professor Adebayo Bamire, the state’s returning officer, who announced the election’s results.
Makinde won the election with a total of 563,756 votes, according to Bamire, the vice chancellor of Obafemi Awolowo University.
While speaking, Bamire declared that Senator Teslim Folarin of the All Progressives Congress (APC) had received 256,685 votes.
Adebayo Adelabu, a candidate for the Accord, received 38,357 votes overall.
