DSS under fire after raising suspicions of interim government plot

The Department of State Services (DSS) has faced criticism following the raising of the alarm that some errant politicians are plotting the establishment of an Interim Government.
Remember how the DSS claimed in a statement on Wednesday that it had found people plotting to prevent Bola Tinubu from being sworn in as president and to impose an interim government.

The plan, according to the agency, is to ignore the constitution and undercut civil rule in the nation, which would cause an avoidable crisis.

According to the report, the people want to prevent the new administration’s inauguration on May 29 by organizing large-scale violent protests and obtaining frivolous court injunctions.

To ensure a smooth and successful inauguration, as promised by President Muhammadu Buhari, the DSS, however, pledged that it would collaborate with all pertinent organizations, people, and groups.

Therefore, the secret police warned those attempting to undermine Nigeria’s democracy to back off from their cunning plans and orchestrations.

Some Nigerians, however, have taken to the microblogging site Twitter to criticize the secret police for preparing to detain demonstrators who are opposing the declaration of Bola Tinubu as the President-elect.

Also criticized by some online users was the DSS’s decision to issue a statement warning those plotting to impose an interim government rather than gathering proof and bringing those people involved before a court.
