House of Assembly in state of Nasarawa expressed support for current Speaker

Former Nasarawa State House of Assembly members have given the current Speaker, Alhaji Ibrahim Abdullahi, a vote of confidence for his focused leadership.

They also praised the speaker for her inclusive leadership, which has aided in the state’s peace and development.

When they visited the current speaker on Tuesday in Lafia, the Speaker of the fourth and fifth Nasarawa State Houses of Assembly, Alhaji Musa Ahmed, passed the vote of confidence.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the Association of Former House of Assembly Members organized the visit.

Former state legislators, according to him, were present at the assembly complex to congratulate Abdullahi on his reelection.

The previous speaker made a point of pointing out that the current speaker has presided over a hostile-free legislature for the last eight years, which has resulted in a cordial working relationship between the state’s legislative and executive branches.

“Our elders said that if a house appears peaceful, it indicates that justice is being upheld there.

The ex-speaker praised the Nasarawa State House of Assembly as one of the most orderly, effective, and peaceful state assemblies in the entire nation.

Given his past success, which has encouraged the state government to enact laws that are transforming the state, the former legislators claimed they are not surprised that the incumbent speaker was re-elected in the recently concluded polls.

In response, the current speaker praised the harmony between the former and present lawmakers and pleaded for its maintenance.

According to Abdullahi, the House has improved the productive working relationship between the legislative and executive branches of government under his leadership.

The speaker assured his audience that he is working to transform the state’s legislative procedures.

To establish responsible leadership and accountability for future generations, he said.

He disclosed that Governor Abdullahi Sule has done well for the state assembly and is passionate about and respects the legislative institution.

“The House has undergone a lot of change.

The Speaker declared, “There was never a time when I would bring the House request before the governor that he would not give it express consideration.”

According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), former lawmakers Anthony Obande, Peter Mbuchu, Muhammed Ibaku, Mary Enwongulu, Bala Moskolo, and Abdulhamid Kwara, among others, praised the speaker for his foresight and exceptional leadership skills in directing the House’s business.
