In response to Femi Fani-recent Kayode’s inciting remarks, a group called Save Nigeria Democratic Movement on Thursday urged Inspector General of Police Alkali Baba Usman to detain the former Minister of Aviation and Director of New Media for the All Progressive Congress, APC, Presidential Campaign Council within the next 48 hours.

In a statement released on Saturday, Fani-Kayode warned that if supporters of Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Labour Party (LP), respectively, did not stop their demonstrations against the outcome of the 2023 election, the nation would become unruly.

Let this be a timely warning, he had said. We won’t continue to be the target of the opposition’s abuse forever; we must eventually respond. Believe me when I say that we will render this country incapable of being governed if there is any foul play involved or a plot to subvert the will of the people.

The group responded by pointing out that Fani-racial Kayode’s profiling and inciting remarks during the recently concluded governorship election in Lagos State sparked unprecedented violence against non-Yoruba voters.

Olubankole Peters Adeniyi, the organization’s secretary, and President Danjuma Garba spoke together at a press conference.

SNDM denounced his most recent threat to make the nation incapable of being governed should Bola Tinubu be inaugurated as president.

They urged the relevant security organizations to restrain Fani-Kayode before his inflammatory rhetoric plunged the nation into anarchy.

The Save Nigeria Democratic Movement expressed its concern over recent inciting remarks made by Femi Fani-Kayode, a former aviation minister and director of new media for the All Progressive Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council.

“Recently, reports of Fani-inciting Kayode’s rhetoric intended to sow ethnic discord and widespread violence across the country have been all over the media. His excesses are a serious threat to our democracy, unity, and security, and we cannot ignore them any longer.

“Recall that during the recently concluded governorship election in Lagos State, his ethnic profiling and inciting statements stoked unprecedented violence against non-Yoruba voters. His recent threat to make the nation incapable of being governed should Bola Ahmed Tinubu not be sworn in is something we find wholly unacceptable. All concerned security agencies should take note of this threat to the country’s peace and security.

Already, the international community had become aware of his venomous and misguided outbursts. He was addressed by a British envoy who warned him against the consequences of his incendiary remarks.

“However, rather than walking back his remarks, he erupted in tirades and insults against the envoy unbecoming of a supposed statesman.

“Femi Fani-Kayode is notorious in Nigeria for his cunningly misguided political antics. He is an agitator whose only political value is the commotion he stirs up and the waves of discontent they unleash.

He has never run for office, won, or lost. His strategy is to parasitically join the winning team and seek out any financial opportunities to support his extravagant and drug-addled lifestyle.

“The inept drug addict once ascribed the plane crashes that occurred while he served as the aviation minister to witches.

“Therefore, we urge the ruling party to rectify its initial error in appointing Femi Fani-Kayode to its campaign council by separating themselves from his inflammatory and bigoted remarks.

If severe punitive measures are not taken against Femi Fani-Kayode, we would be forced to believe that he is carrying out the ruling party’s orders to destroy Nigeria.

“Finally, we demand that Femi Fani-Kayode be detained by the Directorate of State Security (DSS) and the Inspector General of Police within 48 hours for seriously endangering national security through his persistent incitement and racial profiling. They continued, “This is meant to act as a deterrent to other tribal bigots and overzealous politicians.
