Why interim government will not happen under Buhari – Lalong

President Muhammadu Buhari would not support an interim administration that would postpone Bola Tinubu’s inauguration, according to Simon Lalong, the governor of Plateau State.

This was said by Lalong on Thursday following their meeting at Aso Rock.

He made his statement just 24 hours after the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the All Progressives Congress (APC) urged the Department of State Services (DSS) to find those behind any potential plans for an interim national government.

The Peoples Democratic Party’s Atiku Abubakar and the Labour Party’s Peter Obi were beaten by Tinubu in the February 25 presidential election, according to the Independent National Electoral Commission, or INEC.

Atiku and Obi, however, rejected the results following INEC’s announcement and claimed that the election had been rigged.

A temporary administration has been discussed in light of the impending legal disputes.

Not under President Buhari’s administration, who has repeatedly stated that “I believe in democracy,” Lalong argued. I think I’ll want to go somewhere and relax after my term is over.

“Therefore, I will say that those who are still discussing it (the interim government) are just daydreaming. Buhari will bring a successor by the grace of God, and that successor is already Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
