Lagos guber: LP’s Rhodes-Vivour clears air on being backed by godfathers

Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, the Labour Party’s (LP) candidate for governor of Lagos State, refuted allegations that some godfathers pressured him to run.

The LP governorship candidate was responding to Abdul-Azeez Olajide Adediran, also known as Jandor, of the Peoples Democratic Party, who claimed on Tuesday that his LP opponent is supported by godfathers like Chief Bode George.

On Thursday morning, Rhodes-Vivour made an appearance on Arise Television and declared, “In the Labour Party, there is no godfather. No one is my godfather.

“In the PDP, I had no godfather. Ironically, Jandor accusing me of having a godfather when I only had mentors and leaders.

“There were reports of financial theft. intended for use in elections and rallies. He claimed in order to obtain the ticket that he would add the PDP with the other half of the APC.

That was the narrative. But now that everyone has returned, APC. What value is there?

He won the election because he had the support of all party officials at the national level, including Obasanjo and Ayu. And now that the situation has changed, he is discussing godfatherism.
