On The Newly Appointed Ministers in Nigeria.

National Interest Network through the National President, Da- Silva Johnson wishes to congratulates the newly appointed and Inaugurated Ministers of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

The National Executive Members of National Interest Network after a crucial meeting on Saturday 9th September, 2023 where we had deliberations in regard to National Issues of which we are grossly affected and have come to resolve that we shall offer our candid opinion for National Development as same thoughts was still shared on Saturday 16th, September, 2023.

The new ministers that have been sworn in on Monday 21st August, 2023 are hereby congratulated and we sincerely wish all of you a successful tenure as you work for the interest of Nigeria.

Consequently, we need to remind you that the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu did not employ you contrary to the thinking of some politicians but Nigerians are supposed to be your employer. The President only nominated you but the senate cleared you after a screening exercise and then confirmed you, but remember that the National Assembly represent Nigerians.

Over the years, Nigerians have been helplessly subjected to undeserved suffering by mediocrities in power and yet voices of few rejected or even suppressed through intimidation and arrest of some people who might want to air their opinions thereby allowing impunity and anarchy in Government.

We as a body are concerned and feel this shall not be allowed to sail through unchecked any longer. We are aware of the sufferings of Nigerians at all levels be it Economically, Security, Education, Health, Power, Agriculture, other infrastructure and just any sector you can name are not doing well over the years.

This is a new Government and we believe it would be an administration with National Interest at heart and as promised by the President.

The Ministers are to function as advisers to the President and equally policy makers alongside the President and other office holders and therefore, a lot is expected and your performances would determine the survival and prosperity of this Nation, Nigeria.

We therefore wish to advise you that an oath of office which is the only way the nation commits integrity of public office holder done on Monday 21st August, 2023 be taken seriously and with respect and to intimate you that we are a watch-dog in the nation ready to showcase your performances throughout your service as Ministers of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

We as concerned citizens and a body that stands for the National Interest hereby advise all the Ministers appointed, assigned, and to be assigned later who do not have the interest of the masses to back out honorably and avoid offending or abusing the oath of office under which you have been engaged. It would be dangerous as Nigerians are ready to pray and pressurize out of office those who chose to satisfy themselves over the interest of Nigeria. The sufferings are much and Nigeria is at the edge of the pit. We are saying enough is enough!

Some Nigerians feel the appointments are excellent and others feel the appointments are to complement certain quarters who sacrificed and supported President Tinubu in the last election. Others also say some of the appointed ministers are of questionable character with some having cases of corruption and yet their appointment sailed through.
Well, National Interest Network has asked Nigerians, especially our members to give them the benefit of the doubt as their competence shall be served for all to see in no time and we say to the appointed ministers, to avoid offending the Oath of Office taken, by not delivering in the interest of the citizens, we shall pray and pressurize the incompetent and underperforming ministers out of office.

We do not want to hear any excuse in the future such as party pressure, cabals, and a claim of being a novice to the ministry assigned just like the former Education Minister in Buhari’s government who told Nigerians when leaving office of his being a novice. The ministers just have to deliver or quit the office allocated to them as it appears that some of the Politicians don’t even value or fear the oath they take anymore but Nigerians especially members of the National Interest Network shall ensure the oath of office is empowered and validated through all possible and legal means henceforth.

We have our people in place all over the States. We have a voice comprising of the voices of the masses because we are concerned.

We wish President Bola Ahmed Tinubu well as he leads the country and we equally congratulate the new ministerial team. We are warming up to celebrate any of the ministers who would perform enough to impact Nigerians positively.

Thank you for the courage to come forth and we hope for the best from you as you discharge your duties. We are approachable for any feedback.

Signed:
C. Everest Olakaibe,
National Secretary, National Interest Network, Nigeria.
